The Abyss Behind awareness: On the Question of What Remains

This book commences with the greatest story ever told: The Birth of the Cosmos. The story is told largely from the Advaita Vedanta perspective, but I also draw on Helena Blavatsky’s Theosophy and as always may writings are guided by the perennial wisdom of the primordial Buddha, Samantabhadra.

The dream of an externally constructed reality is just that: a dream. In this book I look into the heart of that dream, to understand where it comes from, how it is sustained, and what sits behind it. I’ll explore the levels of consciousness, awareness and ask the vital question which Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj put to Mauro Bergonzi in 1981: “When even awareness itself is let go, what remains?” The perspectives for understanding phenomena in this book are primarily drawn from the Buddhist Yogachara and Madhyamaka traditions.

Akasha and Karma: The Unfolding of the Cosmos

This book was inspired by a chance comment by my friend and fellow traveller, Pat Carey.

Akasha is the fifth foundational element known as Aether from which everything springs and to which it will eventually return. It is the source of the universe and holds the karmic imprint of all that has gone before, all that is now, and all the potentials which might come into being in the future.

This book is about the birth of the cosmos. I explore this from various scientific and spiritual perspectives; particularly Quantum Physics, Theosophy, Dzogchen and Advaita Vedanta. Come along for the ride and join me on this remarkable journey.
